Pathologically Eclectic Rubbish Lister

The Perl programming language was created by Larry Wall, who declared that the name was an abbreviation of Pathologically Eclectic Rubbish Lister, or possibly Practical Extraction and Report Language. I've used it a lot and I'm not ashamed of it. And I still use it. In spite of the fact that some people say it's dying. However, now when I'm more or less completetly converted to JAVA, we are actually discussing to switch part of our development to Ruby on Rails.

My name is Sigfrid Lundberg. The stuff I publish here may, or may not, be of interest for anyone else.

On this site there is material on photography, music, literature and other stuff I enjoy in life. However, most of it is related to my profession as an Internet programmer and software developer within the area of digital libraries at the Royal Library, Copenhagen (Denmark) and, before that, Lund university (Sweden).

The content here does not reflect the views of my past or present employers
